My apawlogies…. I’m gonna be a total hypurrcrite today, and throw up a bunch of pictures without anything witty to say about them.
I’ve been meaning to post these photos (I litterally cannot resist NOT sharing them!) for weeks, and what better day is there to do so than today?!
Ummm… BECAUSE CATURDAY!
These are all stray kitties found on the streets of Istanbul, with the exception of the last one which was found onsite at the ancient Ephesus ruins (that kitty found the pawsibly coolest place to call home!). I have obtained a habit of taking photographs of sleeping animals (see Sleeping Puppies Collection here), because they’re just the cutest!
But really, cat puns aside, I want to say thank you to everyone who left such encouraging and insightful comments on my last post. I felt so moved reading your comments and it really made me fall back in love with blogging!
(I’m still working on replying to every single one. But soon after I published, I was hit with some sort of food poisoning and D and I spent the next couple of days whimpering in bed and alternatively rushing to the bathroom….. yeah…SO fun! My main goal became to get well fast before tonight’s lantern release festival… which is one of my TOP dreams!!)
True, I love having this blog to look back on our adventures (in fact, the other night, D and I spent quite some time going over old posts and reliving the memories that have already faded. Which in turn, made me feel guilty that I failed to blog about 70% of Europe, but nevermind…). But let’s be honest, I think hardly any of us would put so much effort into blogging if it really is *just* for ourselves. We wouldn’t be spending the countless hours and late nights coming up with content and writing and deleting and rewriting and editing photos if truly nobody else read. And all for a grand profit of… negative dollars, after hosting fees.
But we continue to do it for the connections and the friends we make. Because we’ve grown genuinely interested in following their lives. Because there’s no better feeling than knowing that you’ve inspired someone halfway around the world. Because we meet people we never would have if it weren’t for having a blog. And that’s the real fun of blogging.
Reading through the comments, I couldn’t believe that I have a tiny community of fun, like-minded readers right here on my site. It truly warmed my heart. My stats are not even near the ballpark of being impressive, but that doesn’t matter. The readers I do have are some of the best and most engaged. And I feel SO lucky to consider you guys blogging friends!
Happy Caturday friends, and here’s to wishing you a purrfect day! I’m finally feline good today, and now I’m off to furfill my dream of seeing the floating lanterns! :D
The post Caturday! (and a thank you note) appeared first on slightly astray.
